The Big Move

Well.... We made the move.... sort of....

We are in temporary housing in Chambersburg, PA. We'll have to move everything again at the end of November.... YUCK!

Here are some pics of the place and the area:

From the front... up the stairs and on the left.... we have the top 2 floors and there's an older Christian couple on the first floor. Keeping the girls quiet on their ceiling is a constant challenge!
The view out the front window/porch... still can't escape the corn fields, but now I've got mountains in the background.... more than a fair trade, I'd say!

View out the back door/porch... a row of houses we'll never be able to afford, but again.... mountains in the background!

Living room .... BIG COMFY COUCH.... this, I may need to find for the next house... ALL six of us can fit on this BAD BOY!

We spent most of our free days checking out the local State Parks...

This is Mt. Laurel Lake... it's about a 30 minute drive from the house. The kids all loved it and the views are spectacular! They're doing major repairs this fall/winter on the property and building a new bathhouse for next Summer... That should be fun!

Also Mt Laurel Lake.

Ian and Mak at Mt Laurel... making water ways!

Emma at Mt Laurel... looking for shells and skipping rocks.

Parks close at dusk... time to head home for the night!

Julie and Aubree spend a day in Baltimore visiting Baby Zachary, so Dad takes the other 3 to see ... you guessed it, another park! The kids played at the park at the local elementary school to get warmed up, then we headed for Pine Grove Furnace... they also have a small beach and lake, but it too is under construction and we couldn't get to it, but we stopped at the furnace to take a few pics and stretch the legs... Luckily, Mt Laurel lake is only a few minutes from Pine Grove Furnace, so we were'nt completely out of luck!

Inside the furnace... the kids found lots of secret passage ways in and around the furnace.

Here comes Emma running out from one of the passages.

This furnace is about twice as tall as the one at Caledonia(earlier post), both are from the Civil War era.
Ian standing by the "How it Works" board... Ian can also tell you all of the ingredients to make steel ... just ask him!
These next 2 photos are for Beej... but I think everyone will appreciate them!
These are taken in the parking lot of our Shippensburg Wal-Mart... It's a nice store, very clean, very new, nice location... It does, however, have a few things our Wal-Marts in IL didn't have:

This is the view coming out of Wal-Mart... MOUNTAINS!!!

And this... is in the corner of the parking lot close to the Outdoors section of the store: It's a Buggy Stahl for the local Mennonites and Amish. If Arcola/Arthur ever gets a Wal-Mart... they should take notes!
